A 39-year-old RCMP officer is facing sexual assault charges.
A woman reported in January that she was allegedly sexually assaulted by an off-duty officer last year.
The two are known to each other.
The Serious Incident Response Team conducted an investigation after RCMP became aware.
They say there are reasonable and probable grounds that the officer committed a crime.
He’s due to appear in provincial court in Shubenacadie in September, and remains suspended from duty.
The officer is charged with three counts of sexual assault, one count of overcoming resistance to the commission of an offence, and one count of uttering threats.
