On February 19th 2004, Nova Scotia was SLAMMED by a giant snowstorm. A storm that was named ‘WHITE JUAN’ (Hurricane Juan hit Nova Scotia 5 months earlier).
Halifax had around 100cms of snow. I was in Grade 4 at Brookhouse Elementary at the time. I’m pretty sure we had a full week off from school. My dad was a snowplow driver for the HRM…we didn’t see much of dad for a few weeks…lol.
Check out these photos and videos of the storm. What are your memories of ‘White Juan’?
The storm known as 'White Juan' buried the Maritimes in snow 20 years ago today - nearly 100 cms in Halifax and more than 80 in Yarmouth. The @CTVAtlantic Video Vault take a look back: https://t.co/6bAyh5p5DL pic.twitter.com/JEQF1gVSpu
