The latest forecast is warning residents of eastern Nova Scotia and Cape Breton to get ready for a lot more snow.
Hazardous winter conditions are expected as this multi-day storm lingers over the Maritimes.
Environment Canada is now forecasting 50 to 100 cm by Monday afternoon for some parts of Nova Scotia
The national forecaster says conditions will deteriorate further Sunday as winds increase and snowfall rates intensify.
Parts of Antigonish, Guysborough, Richmond and Inverness counties will see ranges totalling 60 to 80 cm of snow.
Sections of the Cape Breton Regional Municipality and northern parts of the island could be blanketed by 80 to 100 cm by Monday afternoon.
In total, 30 to 60 cm is expected for the Halifax and Truro regions.
“The snow will be wet and heavy, which in combination with strong winds, could lead to utility outages.” stated Environment Canada in its latest update.
The RCMP is urging people to stay off the roads to help with snow clearing and overall safety.
Meantime, the Nova Scotia government is asking residents to check on your neighbours, especially elderly, those living alone or persons with disabilities.
