Just over four weeks into the CUPE Local 5047 strike and the two sides are back at the bargaining table.
More than 1,800 school support workers are on the picket lines fighting for fair wages.
Earlier this week there was a rally downtown Halifax at Province House as well as one in Dartmouth, with NDP Leader Claudia Chender on site, helping the members make their voices heard.
President Chris Melanson said many members have to make the difficult choice of paying bills or putting food on the table, under their current salaries.
Premier Houston says the union was offered wage parity across the province in earlier negotiations, but members say it’s not enough to live on.
The strike began May 10.
