At approximately 12:35 am Sunday, police located a man in the area of the 1600 block of Lower Water Street who had been stabbed. The victim was transported to the hospital where he later died.
The Nova Scotia Medical Examiner Service conducted an autopsy today and has ruled the manner of death to be a homicide. The victim was 36-year-old Patrick Wayne Stay.
He was internationally renowned for his skills behind the microphone.
“He was right on the verge of breaking through,” said Behnny Mennier, a close friend of Stay who knew him since their days at Northbrook Elementary School in Dartmouth. “He’s loved and he’ll always be remembered.”
Investigators are asking anyone with information about the incident or video from the area to call police at 902-490-5020.
While he’s death has shocked many locally, it’s clear to see the impact he’s had internationally with people like Eminem tweeting about his death.
