The trusty Farmer’s Almanac is warning us to brace for a frigid winter.
The long range forecaster predicts winter to arrive early in Yukon and northern Alberta and several big snow storms predicted to hit Quebec and Atlantic Canada with the first arrived by the end of November.
The Almanac predicts we will see very cold days in early part of December and January.
“Frosty, frigid, freezing . . . however you say ‘cold,’ that’s what’s in store for most Canadians this winter,” reports Janice Stillman, editor of The Old Farmer’s Almanac Canadian Edition. “But as an added ‘bonus,’ we also expect a number of unusual mini-deep-freezes throughout many parts of the country, which will sneak up and surprise with their intensity.” For 231 years, The Old Farmer’s Almanac has been helping readers to prepare for the season ahead with its 80 percent–accurate weather forecasts.
Much of Ontario will also see more snow, while parts of the Prairies and B.C. will sometimes be more wet than white with sleet and freezing rain more prevalent than usual.
For 231 years, the Almanac has been giving us a heads up on weather and other fun stories.
