Thousands of hockey fans lined the streets of downtown Halifax today to catch a glimpse of Cole Harbour native Nathan MacKinnon and the Stanley Cup.
The Colorado Avalanche superstar then took the stage at Grand Parade where he told the large crowd he is proud to call Halifax home. He added this was more than he ever expected and thanked everyone for coming out.
Nate’s family was there to enjoy the moment but so were Avalanche captain Gabriel Landeskog and Andrew Cogliano who came to help their teammate celebrate his big day.
Mayor Mike Savage took the stage to declare August 20, 2022 Nathan MacKinnon Day in Halifax Regional Municipality.

During a Q and A session Nathan thanked all his coaches that has pushed him in great ways.
