Surge 105’s 1st Anniversary!

Here we are one year into Surge 105! I remember coming into the studio that first day, just a ball of emotions.

Excited, nervous, anxious, it had been a long time coming for Surge. From my first conversations with the big bosses we talked about what the station could be, what it could sound like, and I would say we are pretty darn close to those first conversations.

So on July 19th, 2021 we unleashed Surge 105 on Halifax with this song:

The response blew me away. You were right there from day one, making us feel welcome, and wanted. I can’t put in any words what that has meant to me and all the staff that worked so hard to get this thing up and running.

For me this was a chance to be back doing what I love in my hometown. That means so much to me.

Now since that first day we have had some fun! The guest that have stopped by, well virtually stopped by, have been incredible. Here are a couple of our faves:

Of course as the pandemic subsided, and we could gather again I was anxious to get back to in person chats. Even more then that I wanted to bring back something we used to do, in person interviews along with acoustic performances. That lead to our first Surge Stage with The Beaches!

The first of many! (I hope)

Mostly as I look back on the past year I want to thank you. Your passion and interaction has made the long days and hard work all worth it.
