Halifax is getting ready to welcome hundreds of sailors home.
Roughly 500 crew members onboard two Halifax-based navy ships will sail into the harbour on Friday morning.
HMCS Halifax and HMCS Montreal have spent the last few months in European waters.
Both frigates have been supporting NATO in the wake of Russia’s war in Ukraine.
HMCS Halifax was originally slated to sail to the Middle East, but Russia’s attack changed those plans.
