A 29-year-old from Annapolis County has been charged with five counts of permitting an animal to be in distress.
On June 7, SPCA Enforcement Officers got a call that several dogs were being neglected.
Officers went to the home; the dogs were seized and taken for veterinary care due to the living conditions and their unhealthy physical appearance.
The SPCA has been posting updates about the dogs, who were found emaciated and with rocks in their bellies on social media.
They’ve been making “inspirational improvements,” they say.
“All five dogs are brighter and beginning to show their adorable personalities.”
An investigation found enough evidence to charge Tyler Bezanson.
Bezanson will be in Annapolis Provincial Court in September.
SPCA staff say the dogs are still healing and aren’t well enough to be adopted out yet.
