A man has been charged with sexual assault after an incident in the city on Canada Day.
Halifax Regional Police received a report at around 9 p.m. that a man had sexually assaulted a woman he didn’t know near the 1700 block of Barrington, close to Prince Street.
They say the man had touched the woman in a “sexual manner.”
He was arrested in the area without incident. The 53-year-old has since been released on conditions.
He’s set to appear in Halifax Provincial Court at a later date.
