Dartmouth is now home to Disc Golf if you want to learn or check out the game.
A new nine hole course is set up on the Dartmouth Common and the parks and rec department is hosting free workshops for everyone this summer.
The game is a combination of frisbee and golf and is now played competitively in 40 countries around the world.
A few tips before heading to check it out:
- The Dartmouth Common is a mixed-use park, so please share the space with others. Those not playing Disc Golf have the right of way at all times. Please respect and observe all municipal bylaws and posted park rules.
- Never throw a disc into a blind area or when pedestrians, players, spectators, or other park users are within range. Use a spotter.
- No playing after dark.
- Let faster players go ahead to keep things moving.
Disc Golf sets are available to borrow through the Findlay Community Centre’s free equipment loan program, located at 26 Elliot Street in Downtown Dartmouth, or reserve by phone at 902-490-4728.
