Hockey and boxing have always had a lot in common, but now that’s going to be taken up a notch.
Led by AJ Galante, former president of the infamous Danbury Trashers of the IHL, this tourney will boast multiple rounds of carefully hand-picked fighters going toe-to-toe.
Each fight will last two rounds with a one-minute break in between. The winner advances while the loser goes home. If you like the rough stuff, this may be a pretty epic watch and it’ll be streaming live May 21st on FITE.

Perhaps the best part of it all is, yep you guessed it, the final King of the Rink takes home a badass championship crown!
Galante has become a household name in true hockey circles after the 2006 Danbury Trashers documentary was released last summer by ‘Untold’ on Netflix.
I asked AJ about the Trashers 20 year reunion coming up and he wouldn’t let the cat out of the bag too much, but it sounds like it’s going to be an epic party.
You can find our entire interview in the audio bar above.
In the meantime, before the reunion hits, Ice Wars is set to take over the headlines with their first rumble hitting the ice next week.
