For the first time in nine years, the Summerside Western Capitals are MHL championships.
They defeated the Truro Bearcats 4-1 on home ice last night to secure the Canadian Tire Cup.
The Capitals won the best of seven series four games to one, Colby MacArthur was named playoff MVP.
It’s the first championship awarded in the MHL since 2019 due to the pandemic.
The Caps will now head to Estevan, Saskatchewan for the Centennial Cup National Junior A Championship tournament May 19-29.
