Police say an 11-year-old was struck by a bullet in Halifax on Tuesday night.
Officers were called to a report of shots fired near a home in the 3000 block of Federal Avenue just after 9 p.m.
Investigators say the girl was shot while inside the home. Both the residence and a parked car were hit with bullets.
She was taken to the hospital with what are described as non-life-threatening injuries.
Investigators are set to remain at the scene throughout the day. A section of the street has been closed.
There is no suspect information available at this time.
Police say they do not have any evidence to indicate the girl was the target.
