The Canada Border Services Agency has seized over 96 kg of opium at the Port of Halifax.
The drugs were captured in a pair of busts.
On Nov. 18, officers found 84 packages of opium, totalling 65 kg, in a shipping container from the United Arab Emirates.
Weeks later, on Jan 7, officers found an additional 14 packages, totalling 31 kg of opium, also in a shipping container from the UAE.
The drugs were turned over to the RCMP and confirmed to be opium after laboratory testing.
