A pillar in the Halifax arts scene has had to delay its season for a fourth time.
On Wednesday, Neptune Theatre announced they had rescheduled the winter and spring 2022 lineup amid public health restrictions from the Omicron wave.
Jeremy Webb, artistic director, says they know it’s a blow to their audiences, actors, designers, production team, and employees.
“This is disheartening news,” he says. “Despite this disappointing set back, we are focused on reopening Neptune and supporting the stability and longevity of the local theatre community.”
Shows now won’t start until March, with the ever-popular Rocky Horror Show delayed all the way to May.
The new planned dates are:
- Beneath Springhill: The Maurice Ruddick Story – March 1 to March 20
- Rumour Has It: The Songbook of Adele – March 24 to March 27
- Koqm – April 5 to April 17
- The Rocky Horror Show – May (specific dates yet to be announced)
- Samqwan – May 12 to May 15
If you’ve got tickets, Neptune is asking you hold on to them.
Reps say you’ll be able to use them for the new dates.
