Public Health is warning of potential exposure to COVID-19 on an Air Canada flight.
If you were present on the named date and time, you’re required to immediately self-isolate and follow the instructions for COVID-19 close contacts based on your vaccination status.
- Air Canada 8104 travelling on Jan. 2 from Montreal (2:30 p.m.) to Halifax (5:57 p.m.). Passengers in rows 1 to 6, seats C, D and F. It is anticipated that anyone exposed to the virus on this flight on the named date may develop symptoms up to, and including, Jan. 16.
Public Health recently changed its approach to exposure alerts due to the recent surge in COVID-19 cases.
It’s no longer issuing notices for locations that have been deemed a minimal risk to the public (precaution notifications). Officials are only sending out alerts for locations where the public may have had close contact with someone who has tested positive for COVID-19 (exposures).
If you were instructed to book a COVID-19 test (close contacts or have symptoms) you will need to complete the online assessment to determine the type of rest you require.
Residents who test positive on a rapid test are asked to notify Public Health via email at PublicHealthPOCT@nshealth.ca. You’re asked to let your close contacts know and to follow directions for people who test positive.
