The QEII announced Friday it will begin to postpone some non-urgent surgeries.
Surgeries scheduled for next week and beyond are being affected.
Nova Scotia Health said it’s to maintain ICU bed capacity as more and more staff are in isolation from COVID-19 exposures.
“We regret having to reduce any services. However, Nova Scotia Health, like many other employers, is dealing with rapidly growing numbers of staff having to stay out of the workplace due to exposures while the demand for care remains high.”
The hospital continues to assess surgical capacity day-to-day, and patients will get notice from their surgeon’s office if their procedure is affected.
