There’s just nobody cooler than The Rock. Nobody.
At last night’s “People’s Choice Awards”, he closed out the night by receiving the People’s Champion Award, but he did it with style.
After giving out some thank yous and shouting out the original People’s Champ, Muhammad Ali, The Rock pointed out a young woman in the crowd named Shushana, who was there courtesy of the Make-A-Wish Foundation.
Then he called her up onstage and gave his trophy to her. He said, quote, “I want to tell you just how much you’ve inspired me and everyone around you and certainly everyone here.
“I want to give you this because you represent everything that it means to be a People’s Champion so this is for you.”
He also shared one of his favorite Muhammad Ali quotes: “The service to others is the rent you pay for the room you have here on Earth.” And he added, quote, “It’s nice to be important, but it’s more important to be nice.”
The Rock also won Male Movie Star and Comedy Movie Star of 2021 for “Jungle Cruise”.
