After a brief Twitter scare last night, the world feared the worst for the iconic Hollywood legend. The social world of course thought she had passed based solely on her name trending. Don’t worry though. Don’t panic! Betty White is alive and well and the reason she was trending was because her 100th birthday is coming up…sort of.
We’re learning it’s a very Nova Scotia thing to talk about your birthday that’s months away. Apparently it’s a very Twitter thing too. Now, before we go on an absolute rant about early birthday announcements please enjoy this incredible Betty White video. It’s our favorite. It’s not what you’d expect and please don’t be offended by Betty’s “vibrant” language.

Amy let us know a few weeks back that – due to the supply shortage – we should start searching for her birthday present now. Her birthday isn’t until January 4th. Somebody please explain to us how this is a thing!?
You go birthday present shopping either the day of or maybe the day before if you really love the person. Those have been the rules for centuries and who are we to break them now!? No. I don’t think so.

We just wanted to update that you the Golden Girls star is alive and well and we figured this would be the best way to do it. To somehow relate Betty to Amy and talk about how ridiculous it is to talk about your birthday months in advance.
