Surge 105, which launched on July 19th with a modern rock format featuring artists like Foo Fighters, Nirvana, and The Black Keys, is ready to move to the next phase.
Station Manager Scott Pettigrew says the early response to the new station has been very positive. Here are a couple of examples.

Jeremy Slattery will be taking on the role of Program Director for both Surge 105 and Hot Country 103.5. Jeremy began his radio journey in Halifax, and most recently has been the Assistant Content Director and Music Director for the Kiss brand for Rogers Media in Toronto.
Radio morning show veteran Jeff Brown is joining Surge 105 as part of a 3-person morning show. Brown has worked in rock radio across Canada including stops in Toronto, Ottawa, Calgary, Edmonton, and most recently with Jack FM in Vancouver. His first day on the air will be Monday, August 9th.
Scotty Mars returns to Halifax radio as Surge 105’s afternoon drive host and Assistant Program Director. Scotty Mars was the morning show host for Live 105 but also made stops with Q104 in Halifax and The Bear in Ottawa. Driving to Mars debuts on Tuesday, August 3rd.
Acadia Broadcasting Limited took over CKHY and CKHZ from HFX Broadcasting in May 2021. Acadia Broadcasting Limited is based out of Saint John, New Brunswick, and owns stations in Bridgewater, Yarmouth, Port Hawkesbury, Saint John, Moncton, St. Stephen, Thunder Bay, Dryden, Kenora, and Fort Frances.
