Two political party leaders are focusing on healthcare as the general election campaign hits its third day.
Tory Leader Tim Houston says the PC’s would tackle ambulance wait times by “aggressively” recruiting and retaining doctors, opening up operating rooms beyond 9-5 hours, and providing virtual care for the 70,000 Nova Scotians without a family doctor.
NDP leader Gary Burrill says his government would permanently get rid of ambulance fees for all Nova Scotians.
Meantime, Liberal leader Iain Rankin is promising a $45 million five-year plan for a sustainable innovation rebate program to help modernize equipment across various industries, including agriculture, high-tech aerospace, and fish harvesting.
He says it’s based off 2017’s innovation rebate program.
