Imagine, if you will, realizing that you’ve just qualified to go to the Summer Olympics in Japan. Talk about dreams coming true!
Wyatt Sanford, a Southpaw boxer from Kennetcook, has been working out with members of the Canadian Boxing team in Montreal. Back on Monday, he learned about the exciting news from his coach.
The 22 year-old Sanford, who comes from a long line of boxers, says he couldn’t wait to share the news upon discovering that he had officially qualified. “As soon as I could, I got on the phone and called my family. And now my phone is blowing up with people calling me, who are just as excited as I am.”
Olympic Boxing gets underway in Tokyo on July 24th.
Best of luck, Wyatt, from Jewel 105!
